 about

Professional
I am thrilled to be teaching at HTeNC for my third year. I am passionate about working collaboratively with teachers to transform our practice, and about bringing equitable, authentic, and meaningful teaching to community schools. In addition to teaching, this year I am engaging in improvement science research through the HTH Graduate School of Education. My research will be centered around equitable math practices within a project based learning environment. I am originally from Upland, California and moved to San Diego in 2006 for college. I attended Point Loma Nazarene University, where I received my bachelor's degree in liberal studies and my California Teaching Credential. When I graduated in 2010, I began teaching in the Chula Vista Elementary School District. During my time there I had the privilege of teaching Kindergarten and Third Grade.

Personal
My husband and I live in North County San Diego. We love to Stand Up Paddle Board, surf, hike, eat, and play music together. We also love to travel! We love to travel- this summer we drove across the country! One of my favorite travel memories is climbing the Harbor Bridge in Sydney, Australia. In my free time I am passionate about singing, reading, cooking, dancing and playing guitar. In fact, occasionally I like to perform with local musical theater groups and love bringing music into the classroom whenever I can!
